Prey is a new movie from the Predator franchise. The alien hunter has been having a hard time, but brings back its best. This new Predator is set in 1719, the time when the Comanche roamed the plains of the United States, and when trappers had no fun trying to find the fine pelts they gave them. Now a new Predator is the one who wants to hunt, and face yourself against another who also needs to become a hunter.
The movie is directed by Dan Trachtenberg, who proved a great director when it comes to genre, in a much more personal setting. The movie’s beautifully shot and demonstrates a new talent, with Amber Midthunder and Naru and Dakota Beavers as the protagonist of Naru’s brother. The film looks good, even with the fact that it’s clearly curved up this budget. It’s seen on Hulu!

How is a man fought against the godfather?
The film begins with the introduction of maru, an old Comanche woman who is trying to prove herself as a hunter. A tribe of hunters and gatherers, in that movie, the tribe divides all the men and women in the responsibilities. The men are hunters, and women are gatherers. Naru sees himself as a hunter, but at any opportunity she can bring the Prey home. She speaks great wisdom and the ability to plan without the execution.
That doesn’t mean that she’s surrounded by sibling rivalry with Taabe, her older brother, who has the ability to get away from his child. Taabe is a great hunter and can prove himself a great leader, but never putting his sisters dream down, but really pushing her to go the extra mile to become a great hunter. Taabe is a very nice person. I think Naru is always jealous, but she doesn’t accept it at all.
Naru always accompanied by her loyal dog, Petsu, and also her fathers tomahawk. Her mother tells her that her father left his tomahawk with Maru, so she could cut herbs. No one is thinking about Naru, but also another way. In spite of her mother, Naru knows medicine, so she can go to a hunting party to rescue him when a naive hunting man becomes hurt by a cliff lion. Naru finds strange sights on the way to the wounded hunter. Many skinned animals and giant footprints belong to a creature that she has never seen before.
Naru won’t kill the mountain lion when the opportunity came. She fell from the tree and became unconscious. Taabe has to take her home and then return to kill the lion. Naru knows there’s something out there, dangerous. However, Taabe successfully kills the lion, and he gets the title of a Warman. Later, Naru decides to go by herself and find the strange creature. She travels the plains till she comes face-to-face with the Predator who’s able to kill a bear with his hands.
Taabe sends a party to reach Naru. They’re found, but they’re also rivaling with the predator; and it becomes a mass murder. Hunters use arrows and spears, but they’re not enough for the Predator. The Predator tries to kill the whole party with a homing arrow, and other weapons, so that Naru can be alone. Naru is stuck in a bear trap. She is now able to imagine that the Predator doesn’t want Prey, that the hunters want, and so lets her live. Apparently, she is captured by some French trappers who are in the area.
How Does Naru Kill The Predator?
Naru wakes up to discover that the trappers hunting for the Predator also are hunting for him. They want to find her way back to shore. She doesn’t help them. They also captured Taabe, and because none of them willing to help them set the abush, they are used as bait. Naru tells Taabe that the Predator won’t come for them; it wants hunters, not bait. The predator arrives but isn’t interested in Naru and Taabe, so they can exploit the opportunity to stop them while the French trappers fight the predator.
For trappers, it doesn’t go well. You are totally killed and the Predator goes on. Taabe reaches a horse, while Naru and his dog go out to fetch her weapons. She kills the trappers and is able to get guns from one of them. The Predator arrives to fight Naru, but she is saved in the last moment by Taabe who is a bad animal and ends up hurting a lot. However, Taabe knows he can’t win completely. Taabe sacrifices himself so that Naru can run. She asks him to get back home before he gets killed.
Naru has seen how the Predator hunts and now has a plan. She saw the arrow of the Predators after a laser came out of her helmet. She sets a trap and uses herbicide to hide her body heat, so that the Predator can’t see her. Naru shoots the creature in the back of his head. She takes the helmet from the animal in a commotion. She leads the monster to a quicksand, where she nearly died earlier.
During the fight, Naru is able to heal the creature, who gets to cut off his arm in desperation. Naru makes the Predator fall into the quicksand, but still is out. It can shoot a homing arrow, forgetting that he hasn’t put on his helmet. Naru set the helmet like a trap, so when the doctor shoots the arrow the helmet says “Poss” and tries to kill him.
The film ends with Naru and his dog coming back to his mother. The Predator bleeds from her hands. Finally, Naru could bring the animals home.
