It wasn’t until the first episode of the Lord of the Rings series was released on September 2, 2022 by Amazon Prime Video. I know this would be true for Peter Jackson until then. The film classics are shown on television regularly, but it’s not only in the theater. Tolkien fans don’t get mad at this, so next to the Extended Version it’s no turning back!

Fans of the films and the fantastical world created by JRR Tolkien generally prefer extended versions, and are fond of theatrical versions in comparison. But what does extended editions really add to the film, apart from the longer dreadful version?

We have the most appropriate of all things, new scenes or longer of well-known scenes. Even films with novelts often come in, and ultimately it went out of the ordinary. Some moments are also simply used to polish certain characters better.

All this ensures a marathon of 9 hours and 3 minutes becomes a marathon of 11 and 36 hours. So you see, many new scenes have been added.
