Things We Saw Today: The Season 6 trailer Rick and Morty has more interdimensional shenanigans

We see the return of Blips n Chitz (et al.) as the place to do a Die Hard-style adventure.

The Adult Swims series Rick and Morty returns to the sixth season next month, and if the new trailer is anything else to go by, were for a complete wild adventure from everyone’s favorite dimension-hopping grandfather and grandson. The drama of season five finale will follow the explosions of Evil Morty, which caused the Central Finite Curve to displace, opening up endless dimensions where Rick isn’t the smartest man in the universe. But if Rick isn’t the smartest man in the world, who and what is yours? Where does the yellow portal lead?

As for the film of season six, there aren’t any more of these questions, and honestly why would it? But now, we take notice of all the new adventures that Rick and the Smith family are in, all but in the pursuit of various aliens, all the extrapolations and more.

As soon as we reach Black Sabbaths Paranoid, we see the return of Blips n Chitz (and the video game Roy) as the setting for summer to have his own Die Hard-style adventure. We also see Summer sporting Wolverines, Ricks multiple mechanical appendages, killer robots, and Jerry being, well, Jerry.

In an interview with IGN, series co-creator Justin Roiland said the new season is a bit more canonical. In addition, it really rewards fans of the show that have been watching until now so its like I think the season is right back to the rhythm of Rick and Morty, and I think season 6 is a little, I don’t particularly think Season 5 is bad, but season 6 is f*cking amazing. It’s really a f*cking quality season.

Rick and Morty season six is going to premiere on September 4th for Adult Swim.
