With the production being continued on Ballerina, Lionsgate announced the addition of one John Wick alum to join the Ana de Armas-led action spin-off.
After the confirmation that Keanu Reeves, Ian McShane and Anjelica Hustons were involved, it was revealed now that Lance Reddick will also replace his role as Charon, a reliable concierge of the Continental Hotel.
Charon’s indispensable part of Wick’s world, said Erica Lee in a statement. To know that Lance will continue to grow in popularity with this franchise is excellent.
The project was first announced in 2019, after the theatrical debut of John Wick: Chapter 3 Parabellum, which sung the first look at the Ballerina assassins, trained by the Ruska Roma syndicate, led by Anjelica Hustons.
Ballerina focuses on the female assassin that seeks revenge against the people who murdered his family. It will be directed by Len Wiseman and helmed in the screenplay of Shay Hatten (Army of the Dead). The film will be under the direction of James Myers for Lionsgate. They produce the spin-off by Basil Iwanyk, Erica Lee, Keanu Reeves and Chad Stahelski.
Lionsgate is currently on the schedule of John Wick: Chapter 4 slated to hit the theaters on March 24 the same year. The studio is also working on the prequel series The Continental, which is coming up on Peacock as a limited edition.
