Ramonna Renslayer, played by Gugu Mbatha-Raw, is one of the most mysterious characters in Disney’s one-day Season 1. What’s his true motivation? Why is she so unbearable, willing to kill anyone like Mobius to protect the Time Variance Authority? Where did he go when the season finale? Mbatha-Raw recently suggested some possible answers to these questions.
While speaking with the Daily Mail, Mbatha-Raw revealed that season two will be more ambitious in scope than season 1. The show’s more creative and surreal [in Season 2], said Mbatha-Raw. But in many ways, it go to more big and bold places than season 1.
The exclusive trailer from Disney’s D23 Expo in September 2022 greeted Loki fans with a glimpse of the larger, bolder spots. In the trailer we see new areas of the VAT, including a large atrium-like space and a warehouse with no unnamed number of spare parts. We even get costumes in season 2. Loki and Mobius have tuxedos, Sylvie is working at a vintage McDonalds and Hunter B-15’s ball gown is wearing.
Mbatha-Raw teased the Renslayers whereabouts in season two saying: Self-assessively, Renslayer makes the profit out of the TVA, which I really excited about. At the end of season 1, Renslayer gets instructions from a mysterious benefactor, who presumably has resigned from the registrar “Jonathan Majors” which runs the TVA behind the scenes. He walks through a mysterious time door. Jonathan Majors will be returning from Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, and in the Loki season 2 trailer, I see the hidden sculpture of his face on the TVA. In the comics, Renslayer is his romantic partner, so we can meet up with them.
Mbatha-Raw isn’t the first cast member to tease about Season 2? Last spring, Tom Hiddleston said that as soon as the story gets closer, Loki will be more unstable, and as turbulent and passionate as ever.
