The streaming service set the release date for Guillermo del Toros Pinocchio at 3 o’clock. PT on December 8 on Friday. The animated show will follow the adventures of a wooden boy who wants a place in the world. A star-studded voice unit will be composed by newcomer Gregory Mann as the titular wooden boy, Ewan McGregor as Jiminy Cricket and David Bradley as Geppetto.

The award winning director del Toro has been involved in the project since 2018. He has been co-directing Pinocchio with Mark Gustafson (Fantastic Mr. Fox). She wrote the film by Del Toro with Patrick McHale for a movie, Alex Desplat. The project was developed by Jim Henson Company – and worked closely with Netflix on 2019sThe Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance.
