There are different films in which dolls are the focus of the storyline and most of the films are generally in the horror category. That means dolls are nowadays being used to horror stories, especially because of these seemingly lifeless objects being depicted as the dwelling of souls in various fictional works. Of course, M3GAN is set to be the latest horror film of a doll. But how scary is M3GAN?
I’m surprised a lot of fans with a PG-13 age rating, and for children under 13 years or younger can watch it from the distance of the parents around to guide them. While he wasn’t doing well, it was still very scary because director James Wan is known for delivering a great horror storyline.
You can easily wonder the fact that the M3GAN is PG-13 but the rattling is still quite fun for old people. Of course, a lot of horror movies have received PG-13 in the past, so that M3GAN is not the only one who wins this rating. This is enough to teach you how scary M3GAN is and tell us more about the work of the movie.
Why is M3GAN?
It has always been an apocalyptic genre where many people have a special place in their hearts. Of course, while there are a lot of different horror films out there, the scary doll genre seems to be an interesting one for a lot of different horror movies lovers because of their dolls always have an allure which makes them really scary in the most interesting way possible. There are plenty of horror movies to watch about dolls, and M3GAN will become the newest film to focus on the doll.
Basically, M3GAN is about a robotic engineer called Gemma, who was placed in a position that she was not ready for when the parents of her niece named Cady died in a car accident. As a result, she should take care of her niece, because of that was never a responsibility she thought was the one she would have to bear.
As an expert in robotics at a toy company, Gemma designed a robotic AI doll that’s designed to be an child’s most precious companion. The doll has the name M3GAN, and is the title of the movie, too. This doll should help her solve her problem, so that her niece could have a safe space to live in without having to worry about her work.

Gemma designed this doll to be able to learn from what she sees and hears. And, that’s why she was made to become the ultimate companion of a child, because she can use what she learns to keep a child safe while wearing them. Her goal is to protect Cady from death. And that’s what makes this movie interesting, because M3GAN will do what is required to protect her against anything that that doll interprets as a threat to young girls’ safety.
In that regard, the horror comes out of the form of intruders, twisted ways of seeing what is right or wrong because she is a doll without moral discernment. The only thing that doll wants to do is to make sure Cady is safe, and that’s why killing people probably isn’t beyond her as long as the young girl has safe space.
How Scary Is M3GAN?
The truth is that M3GAN will become a movie with a lot of killing involved. That means this film, directed by James Wan, is actually going to become more a thriller than a horror movie. Of course, there is a sci-fi element in the present generation that can be built in the form of advanced AI.
Unfortunately, despite the fact that this movie is a crime thriller with murder and death in mind, fans who were excited about it didn’t find out exactly how it was that the movie rated PG-13. Of course, a PG-13 isn’t as gory as a movie that is rated higher, and that means that M3GAN won’t likely have too many gory scenes.
I mean: it is literally a killer doll; can you make more money but now cmon. wasted potential. basically a pg-13 film, which is almost never a good thing.

Although M3GAN is rated PG-13, that doesn’t mean it’s scary. Let’s not forget that James Wan has always been known to deliver a lot of great horror movies that have a mix of eerie and jumpscares. I think there’s a good chance that he can incorporate a plot that makes M3GAN scary without to worry about blood and gore. Some of James Wans’ products include the likes of Annabelle, Insidious, The Archives 81 and the Saw franchise.

Megan has a strong answer, too. This is because of the fact that many films that PG-13 in the past were very good in their own right without need for a bit of blood and gore. As such, movies include Insidious (a James Wan product), A Quiet Place and The Ring. With these films in its entirety allowing the audience to watch the cinema without ever putting in any of the most interesting scenes in the cinema despite being PG-13, there is a good chance that M3GAN can still be quite scary without incorporating many gore and mature themes that aren’t suitable for children.
Can kids watch the game M3GAN?
As I said earlier, M3GAN is well rated PG-13. Those ages are also better able to watch the film, as long as they do. Because the film PG-13 is a book that doesn’t suit kids who are younger than 13 and is why parents have to be around them when they watch movies like that.
This means that M3GAN can be sufficiently suitable for children aged 13 or younger as long as there’s parental guidance. However, teenagers over the age of 13 should be able to watch this film without parental guidance.
However, younger children who can’t watch film with murder themes should avoid getting away from M3GAN. That’s because young children still trust their own dolls and keep their hands dirty. And allowing them to come to a movie like M3GAN, who tells the story of a killer doll, would probably affect their kids’ look.
