Apple TV+s series starring Charlie Hunnam, Shantaram, won’t return for a second season. The season two finale is available on the platform as of today, December 16th, today marking the series finale.
Based on the most successful novel by Gregory Roberts, a 12-episode run follows a fugitive named Lin Ford (Hunnam) who was looking for time to escape from Bombay in the chaotic 1980s. Lin, who was alone in an unfamiliar city and hoping for his disintegration, struggles to avoid the chaos that he escaped from as he worked as a medic for the poor and neglected areas. Lin finds himself in love with an enigmatic woman, and quickly must choose between freedom and love and the long road to redemption.
They’re among the stars of the series – Shubham Saraf, Elektra Kilbey, Fayssal Bazzi, Luke Pasqualino, Antonia Desplat, Alyy Khan, Sujaya Dasgupta, Vincent Perez, David Field, Alexander Siddig, Gabrielle Scharnitzky, Elham Ehsas, Rachel Kamath, Matthew Joseph, and Shiv Palekar.Chantaramis co-created, Andrea Barron, Nicole Clemens, Steve Golin and Justin Kurzel also executive produce, along with Eric Warren Singer, who co-created the show.
