A new Pokemon character will be named Riko and Roy (some reports list the names of Liko and Roy). Also remember that their official English names might be different, since Ash really means Satoshi in Japanese. Because of the international appeal of the franchise, it’s possible that the names Riko and Roys will likewise be the same, regardless of localization, so that you’ll be able to have a uniform brand.

As of the last update, Studio OLM, Netflix, or any company related to the anime production hasn’t officially confirmed the Pokemon Season 26 release date on Netflix USA, Canada, United Kingdom or other English-speaking countries. However, the date of the Pokemon 26 release in Japan has been confirmed for April 2023.

It really isn’t that unusual to know from the beginning date of a new Pokemon season. Pokemon anime is usually becoming a new season without major delays. Sometimes there will be a little break. But then the first episode of a new Pokemon season will often be announced months later.
For example, The Pokemon Company International revealed the Pokemon Ultimate Journeys on May 11, 2022, and then the Pokemon Season 25 release date in Japan was retroactively considered December 17, 2021. Rather than go with a different Pikachu, Riko and Roy will first be partnered with three different Paldea-based Pokemon Sprigatito, Fuecoco, and Quaxly that came from the Pokemon Violet and Scarlet video games. Although Pikachu was famous as a partner of Ashs, it’s not known if these first partners will eventually be replaced or if the series is gonna settle on a specific pokemon as reoccurring characters.
