Rian Johnson’s first movie in Star Wars was hit by extreme disinterest. Even though the director hasn’t made more films in the iconic sci-fi world since, he would feel sad if he didn’t get the chance to see it again.

What do you think? Just in a recent interview, Johnson asked whether or not he had the opportunity to lead a different Star Wars film. For the director, he said it wouldn’t be the end of the world, but he’d be sad to know the fact that he liked the franchise.

I think that this wouldn’t be the end of the world for anyone. Or I would be sad. I love the world. I love people. I love Star Wars fans. I love how they engage in it. In this world, it’s impossible to tell a story, to tell one another in reality and then to see one who really connects to it and tells you that. It’s amazing. I hope I’ll do it again, but the end of the world is, until the end of the world has actually become, which is the day of the week?

Johnson’s first foray into Star Wars came in 2017: The Last Jedi. It has been met with extreme feelings once he released it. While some people considered it a great film and reintroduced in Star Wars, others criticised it for its deviation from the norm and to what some fans could have expected. Although they disintegrate, The Last Jedi was a hit at the box office in terms of almost $1.3 billion worldwide and became the world’s biggest star film ever.

After The Last Jedi, Johnson completed a trilogy of Star Wars movies, but no one heard about its status till now. Earlier this year, Johnson said he hopes the films will happen, and continued to talk about it with Lucasfilm’s President Kathleen Kennedy.
