After 13 years’ wait, Avatar: The Way of Water is finally slated to be released. This movie was one of the most anticipated movie in ten years, and now that we have finally watched it, we have plenty of room to talk about that epic movie. We have already written about The Way of Water to the timeline of the franchise since it’s obvious that there was a significant time difference between the original and the sequel. So, in this article, we will examine number numbers so that we can find out how old the two main characters are in The Way of Water, Jake and Neytiri are, and how old they are by their children Neteyam, Loak, Tuk, and Kiri.

Avatar: The Way of Water is done in 2169, which is 15 years after the original movie. Jake Sully was born in 2126, and now he’s 43-years-old in his sequel. Neytiri was born in 2136, so she’s 33 years old in the sequel. The way of water was born with Neteyam, their oldest son, in 2155 (when Jake was 29), so he should be 14 years old in The Way of the Sea. Loak, its younger brother was born, not long after him, so he should be around the same age, and whose nickname is Tuk, Jake and Neytiris youngest child is born in 2161, so she’s eight. Avatar Recap: What Do You Need to Know before Watching Avatar 2?

Water is about family.

There are the whole family and one of the family. The film’s opening sequence led to all of the children, Jake and Neytiri; two, one child, one child, and one child. Although Jake and Neytiri were the main characters in the original movie, we could say that the plot of the sequel was more focused on their children who had most of the movie plot points.

The first film was published in 2154, and although the sequel continued on a decade and a half later, the opening sequence of the movie was held shortly after the premiere of the film. Our first one, Jake and Neytiri, came to the realization that they were married and started family. Since we’ve been having a countless years of peace and happiness, humans returned to Pandora in 2168. The movie goes back to 2169, when the main events of the sequel are starting to transpire.

What can we expect in the third film Avatar?

While it didn’t matter the beginning, The Way of Water was certainly made as a franchise film, it was leaving us with issues and cliffhangers that should be resolved in one of the upcoming movies. Since the sequel was heavily focused on the Sully family, we can only assume that the threequels continue to do the same thing.

One of the questions for which The Way of Water doesn’t give a clear answer is Kiris’ motherage. As we have seen in the movie, the deceased Grace Augustine is a biological mother of Kiri, but who is his biological father is still unknown. As such, Jake isn’t aware of the fact that his mortal enemy colony Quaritch survived their last encounter. We can only speculate what the third movie is about, but it seems that the story is about to be built on resolving those cliffhangers.

Two: Why is Kiri Different from Other Navis & Why Can She control Eywa?

With the original movie made in 2009, it was a big movie with over $8 billion of total revenue and it is still the most outstanding movie in history. It’s pretty difficult to predict whether the sequel is the first to repeat the commercial success, but the good news is that the sequel is still showing James Cameron’s talent at its finest. Also, The Way of Water and the third movie, which we then made back-to-back, will not be short of time. The three movies will be released on December 20, 2024, and it’ll soon become a long-lasting film.

There are three sequels that are slated to be released in the end of the year, due to two-year gap between each other, thus making a fourth movie in production to be released in December 2026 and the fifth of the fifth movie in December 2028. If only one thing is for sure, in the next few years, there are tons of Avatar to watch.
