The Mac mini is not Apple’s most pampered computer, so to speak. Some of the generations have gone by many years without being refreshed, and its relatively inexpensive Mac is equipped with more than enough power to meet all users needs.
I don’t accuse Apple of laziness, but the result is that the Mac mini tends to be superior to the iMac (and now with the Mac Studio). The Mac Mini could benefit from attention of the best on the market – a rival who could take it.
Xiaomi may have hit the nail on the head and competed with the Mac mini.
Xiaomi has introduced a little smaller computer, called the Mac Mini, so that it can be very useful for most users. You can buy them at a price that is just over 500 dollars.
Plus, it has some more ports than the mini-mac in some ways.
- Two USB-C Thunderbolt 4 ports.
- 3 USB 3.2 Gen 2 ports.
- 1 port on USB 2.0.
- 2,2 HDMI 2.2 ports (18 Gbps bandwidth)
- 1 Jack 3.5mm x 5mm x 3 mm x 3 m.
- One Ethernet volume of 2,5 gbs.
I don’t understand how this work works, but as far as I am concerned, I’m aware, that the person who screams, is not right. But what I mean is we are fronting a computer very expensive and attractive it is interesting to use, those who want a computer without much money, but they don’t want to spend a lot of money. Now these users have two options: a Mac for 799 dollars or a Mac for 500 dollars to change. One can prefer macOS, but a difference of 300 dollars can be decisive.
MacOS must be present, as well, at the cheapest sector of the computer world.
Do you have a laptop? No, but the Xiaomi Mini PC I think is my favourite one. If you want to get Apple to take advantage of your Mac as a cheap option, then you could make it look more expensive for you. If a Mac mini equivalent were selling for a lot more, then Apple would have no choice but to move matters in itself.
Well, starting with more powerful chips and in addition to, maybe even still selling the M1 model for a lower price so that it can compete. How to keep your cheap desktop computer from going too far? Because this would mean that macOS as a platform would also be falling behind in a sector of the market.
As with me, we have to see how this market reacts. The Xiaomi Mini PC hasn’t yet revealed a date for release in Europe, so it wouldn’t be long before we see it if Chinese sales are not there. There is nothing like a good rival pushing Apple to improve.
