It would be nice if the latest version of The Witcher 3 went through without issues.
The next-gen upgrade from Witcher 3 is positive and negative. While we benefited from the quite hardware-hungry upgrade on our test machines, many users report several problems with this update.
A problem has already been solved by a hotfix, namely that some players on the PS5 didn’t have access to the extensions. But there is still a lot more on the list of problems, which the CDPR has already posted in the official forum and continues to ask questions about any issues.
Among other things, there is talk of crashes on the PC, poor ray tracing performance on Intel processors and the generally heavy hardware requirements when using all ray tracing effects, which are clearly below the ray tracing mode on the console push the hoped-for 30 fps.
CD Projekt RED reminds us of your best use of the latest graphics card driver. Before the update, NVIDIA already released a new Game Ready driver with optimizations. And two versions of this game are available: the DirectX 11 version with full full size, which does not ray tracing and somegraphical improvements, and the DirectX 12 version with all the features and improvements. As with any software, you may use the DirectX 11.
As a solution to complex performance problems, it’s noted that both Steam and GOG have the option of going back to an earlier version without an upgraded new level of technology.
