The BBC dropped two brand new Doctor Who photos in the upcoming season of the long-running sci-fi drama, which will be led by rising British star Ncuti Gatwa. These photographs provide us with our first official look at Gatwas portrayal of the fifteenth time Lord. He wears a cool brown plaid dress. In one of the photos, he’s accompanied by Millie Gibson (Coronation Street), who’s set to portray the doctor’s newest companion, Ruby Sunday.
As part of the shows 60th anniversary celebration, the new episodes will premiere on theBBC and Disney+ beginning in November 2023 for fans in all over the world. Recently revealed that Doctor Who vet David Tennant is back in his new special season for three different special episodes as the fourteenth doctor. Later, Ncuti Gatwa will take over the role of the fifteenth Doctor of the series.
The upcoming season of Doctor Who comes from directorRussell T. Davies, and will be Gatwas first major TV project to be the titular lead. The actor will officially become the first black person to portray the iconic character in the franchise’s history.
