In fact, they just released lists of their top products in’sweets’ and Japanese snack categories for 2022, and some look so much more ridiculous!

These language de chat cookies are made with high-quality eggs from an egg-specialty shop in Utsunomiya, Tochigi Prefecture, that has been family-owned since 1935. Buttery, crunchy, and light enough to almost melt on your tongue.

Mariebell Japans Pandora Box (5,400 yen) a third on sweets list 5. New York chocolatier Mariebell is also a trader in Kyoto, Osaka and carries some of their best chocolate treats. Four baked nut-and-chocolate delights – Pecan Nut Florentines – Engadina Chocola – Swiss-style sweet made with organic walnuts and caramel – Fruit Pate (granola, spicy chocolate and honey), Citrus Dacquoise (made with citrus flavours and chocolate cream filling).

Fujin Gaho sold the fourth most popular 2022 ice cream specialty store POIRE des rois GINZA the Ice Pop to Rois (3,240 yen). These come in nine box, three from three flavors: strawberry, lemon, pistachio. These mini ice pops are not only super cute, but also packed with flavor, and have even included some pistachios, in some forms. Theyre small, but fully satisfying!

Kyoto Gion Cookie Tackle for most famous Fujin Gaho sweets: No.5. Kyoto: Shinmonzen Yonemura make these cookies and say that they should be loved so much by maiko. 12 cookies ranging from Japanese flavors like black sesame, kuromitsu kinako to western-inspired flavors like coconut, hazelnut.

Japanese snacks category includes so many sweets, with occasional salty snack added to. Japan’s top snack for Fujin Gaho was Peanut Mochi (2,000 yen) from Japanese sweet specialty shop Kasugai Yoshino. These unusual mochis are the ultimate salty-sweet dessert, with a peanut paste filling in it with coarse-ground peanuts.

MoCHI cube (2,700 yen) from Tottori-based Japanese confectionary Hogetsudo comes as twelve with four different flavors. These mochi are stylishly molded into perfect cube and made with domestic ingredients. The cows have a melt-in-your-mouth-flowing meltdown since they’re filled with whipped cream made from pasture-raised cows milk. Chocolate truffle, coffee, matcha or azuki bean in the swirl, wrapped in mochi around the whipped cream. It sounds as delicious as it looks!

Second most popular Japanese snack of 2022 was the Fukeyoshi Ama-joppai Can (2,592 yen) as Fukiyose can be mixed medley, drift and blow together and there is an iced box of sweet and salty rice snacks made in the fall, shaped like leaves and flowers blown together by the autumn wind. There are crackers made from soybean, seasonal vegetable chips, plum blossom-shaped unpei (glutanite rice and sugar) and flower-shaped bolos (confectionary inspired by Portuguese sweets) made from buckwheat, and karinto (deep-fried dough covered in sugar). The box full of Japanese flavors, aesthetics!

No list of Japanese sweets would ever be complete without sembei rice crackers, rank fourth this year. Last but not least was Japanese snack category’s Tarafuku Monaka (3,100 yen) sold as set of two boxes of six. Wifi wafer sandwich monaka is often packed with red beans or other tasty morsels. The Japanese confectionary Shirakaba, founded shortly after World War II, fills these monaka, shaped like lucky cats, with anko made from white azuki beans, for a satisfying and crunchy snack.
