How can you become a martial artist after six months of online karate classes? Lets look at the tips given below

Because sometimes I need not get to dojo to train

Because sometimes you cant get to a dojo to train.

To be strong at any age! Japanese speaking reporter Kouhey always believed this. In fact, hes always wanted to have the strength and the ability to defend himself and those in need, a sentiment that has grown stronger with age.

But Kouhey, now in late 40s with no experience with any kind of combat arts, cant see he trains in something strenuous like boxing or mixed martial arts – like doing more to get more strength and confidence. Kouhey decided to start practice martial arts six months ago to calm those crippling griefs.

In Tokyo’s Ikebukuro village he wished to get to meet. But he lives all the way out in Chiba Prefecture – east of Tokyo; often works from home. One hour and a half by train is tricky but it takes over a half to get there. And that’s why he chose for online training.

Hes been following a course called Dare Tsuyo DOJOy, which is a combination of Anyone can be strong and a mix of dojo and joy. Kick-off with martial art enthusiast Katsunori Kikuno at Keiten Aijin event, which greatly inspired Kouhey.

Kikuno appeared in First Episode of Japanese MMA fighter Mikura Kamakura’s Popular YouTube Video series Breaking Down, which sees one minute battles between the stars. Kikuno crushed former sumo wrestler with 40kg heavier than him in 59 seconds – inside it.

Kikunos Dare Tsuyo DOJOy moves forward, says he can become a strong fighter; supports teachings on Okinawa Kenpo, or Okinawan-style karate. In May Kouhey started working with DOJOy online courses but still has his own philosophies. ‘It’s been hed and he’s been a constant instructor for six months, and has done some kind of martial practice.

Heres Kouhey practicing the Naihanchi Shodan kata in a suit. He says: First time I recorded myselfAny experience martial artist would scoff lol. Ill be putting forward very hard!

But without one to speak to, how can Kouhey know if hes actually getting stronger? Special visit for dojo in-person to test himself at kickboxing gym Legless Ikebukuro.

Kouhey attended two classes: a training class, a self-defense class. Online trainees cant attend these classes, but they opened the sessions for them to help evaluate where they are in their training. Jeddians, teens and 70s attended.

And also with warm, friendly smile, directing Kikuno appeared.

First thing they did was check each student Seisan kata, which is a basic kata commonly practiced first in many kinds of karate. All moves together as one in this form.

Though it looks rather simple, its actually pretty hard to find. Studying it, learning and playing video was definitely a lot different from learning with a teacher. Kikuno worked with Kouhey one-on-one to correct his stance and form.

Its not something you can pick up right away, Kouhey feared. He has definitely needed more training!.

They walked out with throws. What Kouhey learned was not anything like judo but a centripetal force throw which doesnt use any physical strength at all. Online classes gave Kouhey a lot but never tried it on a person. He had doubts about how he could do it.

First, Kikuno shows joint action for Kouhey. You have to grab both your opponents arms to get them on the side, but not with your body weight. He showed them how Trying to use brute force doesnt work.

However, as Kikuna stepped back and kneeled to his knee, his opponent (Kouhey) came down slowly.

Kouhey has just thrown himself for the sake of the gif, but thats not good. He says you dont even feel the strength in the move, have no chance to deal with it. You really do just get thrown like a ragdoll.

Yeah, as Kouhey tried it on Kikuno for first time, it didnt make any difference.

Kikonos attentive coaching brought in in over 4 days. ‘It wont work’ if you consider yourself using a trick to take down a competitor. You have to take them as a break as you pull down. Important to not try to go on the wrong side of your opponent. With that in mind, Kouhey again tried, and was back at the wheel

Were the right guys? It was he!

Even when there was an old UFC fighter who actually killed him! Funny thing is that he didnt really know that he’d been trying; it didnt really feel like he tried. This was a great move. Kouhey enjoyed the coolness of being on both the giving and receiving end.

A final, they tested the strength of the trainees thrust punches.

Kikunos punches are insanely powerful, says Kouhey. Proof of the proof is in overseas nickname: Katsunori One Punch Kikuno. Physical strength, his special technique of transferring weight through his body can be the source of that power.

Kodiakuno slides as much of body weight into the fist to create huge force in thrust. And even if you weigh just 40 kg (88 pounds), if you put 10 percent of your weight into the fist, it’s like punching someone with four-kilogram (8.8 pounds) dumbbells.

All this weight goes in the fist.

Kouhey also used this multiple times on online videos, but had to play it in person.

Kikuno instructed him on appropriate way to punch. Intended not to throw your whole body at your hip, to feel like a boxer as it involves not using your hand as you punch.

And then Kouhey tried that when he tried.

It didnt even look like a punch but he felt somehow his body weight had transferred to his fist. Kouhey said to some point in a manga that the truly effective punches that feel the greatest have the ones with no strength at all. Is that what Kouhey experienced? Then, then a fast 50-year-old made brawny Kikuno stumbling back.

Kouhey’s bigger fighter than before starting online course, he would say yes, no, yes, yes. Kouhey couldnt help but see improvement at dojo as lacks more skills and experience from training with others.

Dojo training: one 74-year-old already holds more punch than Kouhey.

This sounds more like a joke than earlier. It uses centrifugal force, which brings its own power, regardless of age of user. Kouhey didnt really believe punch that didnt look right was effective but now asked for a proof on the trainee.

First he struck lightly.

Kouhey thought, Well, this is not that bad. Until

That was some power! He had been hit on the right side of his chest, suffered the shock all the way up in his skull, was sent stumbling back. So, when Kouhey jumped back on his ‘whole talent the in-person staff were’, he did not abide by his dreadful work. Anyone at any age part certainly wasn’t a lie.

So, can you become a strong fighter after half a year of martial arts training with online videos? Answer: It depends. It depends on how much time you devote to your own training. Even first-timers will gain some energy if you diligently watch the videos, train with them. But when you always train by yourself, you wont be able to tell how far youve gone.

Dare Tsuyo DOJOy offers in-person training sessions in a variety of markets to find solutions to that problem. Take a trip to Chiba prefecture to find out if Kouhey can meet other Chiba-area students.

Dojo certified instructors can also join for one-on-one instruction for extra fee and if you live in a region that does not offer Training Sessions, you can build up and learn how you do with the online classes and use this service to check in and see where you do.

Online class are perfect introduction if youre someone looking to take some martial prowesslike smashing roof tiles with your fistbut. If nothing else, it will help you change your perspective on life!
